You’ve bought the perfect piece of land and you’re ready to build your dream home! Here is a step-by-step guide to help you understand the home building process.
Step 1: Site Preparation
Site prep includes clearing trees, rocks, debris and leveling out the site in order to find the best location for the home on the lot.
Step 2: Footings, Foundation & Framing
After the perfect spot has been chosen, the footings for the home will be poured, the foundation will be built, and the framing will be constructed. The exterior siding, roofing, and finishing can be completed.
Step 3: Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC
Next, you’ll have heating and cooling systems installed by the HVAC professional. The plumber will run lines for your water and sewer systems & the electrician will wire your home for your needs. Once all in wall systems are complete, the insulation and drywall will be installed.
Step 4: Flooring, Trim & Paint
Interior details like flooring, doors, trim and cabinets are being installed next! The drywall will also be painted during this step.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
Appliances will be delivered and installed next, along with lighting fixtures, electrical plugs and faucets.
Step 6: Walk through & Closing
Lastly, you will do a final walk through with the builder and complete the home building process by closing on your dream home!
